Where in the world do I start?! Charity work is very near and dear to my heart. I particularly take to those causes which help those furry little creatures who fill our lives with so much joy and those which have the potential to make a real statement and change for humanity! Im going to share a little bit about myself here as I haven’t shared much yet…
I tend to be a quiet person most of the time but when you meet me you would never peg me as such. Following so far? ha ha! I love life and all it has to offer.
I have a twin sister with Down Syndrome who I would die for and 3 other sisters who mean the world to me. Other than my husband, they are my true loves and would do anything on this Earth for them.
I find myself leaning toward hugging trees but every once in awhile I can get caught up in our evolving society! I mean who doesnt love Times Square and the emotion it can evoke? Its a powerful area both in presence and in energy consumption.
However, it is moments like these at the AIDS Walk where I am humbled and truly touched by the people I meet. I recently returned from a 3 week trip to Africa and this event was of particular interest to me even more so after seeing the impoverished countries, villages, and families.
So as for the AIDS walk, it was a terribly cold rainy day and yet everyone was incredibly happy and proud! While the quality of these photos from a photographers perspective are not perfect – they are to me. They are because the focus is the story and the experience we all shared that day! Thank you to everyone who donated, ran, walked, or even thought about the cause we are all supporting! Cheers to world AIDS day, a moment closer to uncovering a cure and another year of hope & love dedicated to this cause. I am so pleased to share some of the photos- I only wish there were more but unfortunately my camera and phone suffered serious damages due to the rain. Thank you to all who participated and allowed this crazy lady to take your picture!

These pictures are just divine. As I mentioned before, your positive energy at the walk was a most welcome surprise in the midst of all that rain! You are so right – everyone there that day believes in bringing awareness to HIV/AIDS – and supporting clinics like Whitman-Walker, which has saved so many lives in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area.
We were there that day as Team @Cressycat – Twitter’s only health and HIV/AIDS awareness tweeting feline. With 6,000 followers and counting, she hopes she’s making a difference in her own furry way. She also wanted to let you know that she thinks your pics are “totally #pawesome.”

This love story began at the FAA – 800 Independence Ave will forever mark the beginning of Tanekia and Derek. So as a way to celebrate that amazing beginning we went back to high five it!
Tanekia told me about one of the most creative moves I’ve ever heard of! During their first couple months of dating Derek would ask Tanekia “A penny for your thoughts a nickel for a kiss?” Then one day, Derek surprised Tanekia by putting together the most adorable tote of nickels and said “Ok, I think I have enough for lots of kisses”. ADORABLE RIGHT??!! So anyway, ever since that day it has become one of their love story staples and adds to the uniqueness of their journey! So without further adieu, the very same tote is pictured below!
Jenny’s down on the SW Waterfront is one of the couple’s favorite places to go and I could totally see why! The glass windows overlooking the marina and cozy corners create such the romantic environment!
Upon leaving Jenny’s Tanekia and Derek just stopped for a dance on the sidewalk! Again, TOO CUTE!!! We were eating it up!
Golfing is a shared hobby, although based on how quickly Derek bolted on to the green – I think he may have a slight passion for golfFirst couple are Derek helping Tanekia…

So after a day in DC we just had to explore their stomping grounds in Chesapeake Beach! Deano, their pup was quite the little cheeser! AHHHHHH!!! Tanekia! You are just so gorgeous I can’t even get over this next shot!
That day we found out Deano likes ducks and the bay! ha ha

Tanekia & Derek, you guys were just such a treat for us to photograph! Every time we turned around you were kissing, laughing, and smiling ear to ear – how much easier could our jobs be? We can’t WAIT until your wedding!!!!
